The Indigo Lotus

the dawn of an age of higher human conciousness 

The number of large-scale natural calamities and human deaths have been on the rise ever since the beginning of this millennium. Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Storms, Floods… Alongside; based on a superficial interpretation of the Mayan calendar ending; lot of hype continues to be generated; especially from the West; about an impending “doom’s day” and “the end of time” in December 2012…and we’re now just a year away from that! Why is such frenzy being generated over this? Why is so much fear being propagated?

This and several other trigger points, urged me to consider the opposite side of this coin. What is the “good” or “right” in all this? Could the Universe have a bigger “Divine plan” in all this?

The end of the Mayan calendar is easily explained as the indicator of a new beginning. A new era… Not necessarily one of Hollywoodian destruction. But one of peace and non-violent co-existence. Besides NASA scientists who rubbish the misinterpretation of the Mayan calendar and the claims of the “End of the World”, there are several indicators that point towards 2012-13 being a point of positive transition on the earth, catalysing higher levels of spiritual consciousness, harmony and understanding amongst human beings. The Age of Aquarius, that started in 2000 and is here for the next 1000 years, is one such prediction of peace and joy on Earth. According to Chinese Astrology, 2012-13 is the Year of the Water Dragon - the most venerable symbol of luck and prosperity in China. Alongside Lord Krishna is supposed to have predicted the beginning of Sat Yug – an era of higher consciousness and truth, and this point of transition is slotted to for 2012-13. In fact, the Kumbh Mela in January 2013, the biggest collection of pilgrims and tourists ever, is supposed to have extra special significance, heralding in peace and harmony in the world. 

All in all, 2012-13, is being predicted as a time of tremendous change on the earth.  

In this whole hullabaloo, a small phenomenon was noticed in 1988, by expert observers and professionals. The arrival of special children on the Earth, with special abilities & powers, and a clear sense of purpose to nurture a higher level of human consciousness in the world. These special children were named ‘Indigo’ or ‘Crystal’ children. As the name suggests, Indigo; also indicative of spiritual colour in the rainbow; were spiritually enlightened children, ready to take the world to another realm of consciousness!

I was introduced to the phenomena of the Indigo child in 2008 by Mae Chee Sansanee – a Korean Buddhist monk living in an ashram in Thailand. She believed in the new age of consciousness, and was working towards it by helping pregnant women understand the specialness of their children-to-be, and empower them to cater to the special needs of their “indigo children”. I researched this phenomena in great detail, connecting with Psychologists and other expert practitioners involved in observing and nurturing “Indigo children”. It was fascinating! These children were special indeed, with special abilities ranging from telepathy, to a unique & uncanny clarity of thought and purpose.  

I would like to further discover & share the phenomena of these special Indigo children, and see the world through their eyes… I would also like to create a widespread awareness of this phenomenon, and generate empathy and understanding towards the special needs of these special children. After all, if these children can possibly herald and nurture an era of higher human consciousness on Earth, and re-create a healthy balance in the skewed balance of today’s existence, then they are surely worth being talked about, openly encouraged and presented with the platforms & environment to encourage, share and act upon their insights. 

I envisage a ten-part television series entitled “The Indigo Lotus”, which will share insights into the lives and times of 10 Indigo children from different parts of the world. The series will aim to create a world-wide awareness regarding the phenomena of Indigo children, and encourage families, neighbourhoods and communities across the world, to realise the specialness of such children, and nurture & empathise with their abilities and potential as harbingers of peace, joy and harmony on Earth .
